How you save Western civilization in its moment of greatest peril

Thousands - waves of thousands -  of American, British and Canadian young men came ashore 70 years ago tomorrow morning, facing a barrage of German artillery.  They began the final push to take Europe - and the West - back from the menace of a grotesque distortion of the Western vision.

Alas, while it gave freedom some breathing room, we know, per Winston Churchill's Iron Curtain speech in Fulton, Missouri two years later, and, well, all kinds of developments since then, right up to the present moment, the war continues.

Our way of life is by no means guaranteed.  It may once again require the level of courage you see on display in this newsreel to preserve it.

  1. Our success since has been, well, not so much. Korea, Nam, maybe some of those forays in the desert, do you think we won any of these since the Big One that should end all other Big Ones.
