How about some loud, clear, forthright, moderate Muslim calls for Meriam Ibrahim's release

John Heyward at Breitbart asks - in the course of reporting that it's not nearly so certain that SUdan is going to release her - the gazillion-dollar question:

You know who else I'd like to hear from on the Meriam Ibrahim situation?  Moderate Muslims.  We're constantly told there are oceans of them in every civilized country.  This would be a great time for them to speak up, in a deafening and unified voice, and make it clear no one on Earth should be tortured or executed for "apostasy," or chained up in a dirty cell with her children while her fate on such charges is decided.  Aren't these Sudanese creeps "hijacking" the great religion of Islam, and shouldn't moderate Muslims around the world be blind with fury over it?
In the United States, the Council on American-Islamic Relations didn't exactly rush to the battlements on Meriam Ibrahim's behalf, but when CNS news asked spokesman Ibrahim Hooper about it, he was willing to say that "of course she should be immediately released," if apostasy is the only charge they have against her.  What does he mean, "if?"

Will anybody else call for "moderates" Muslims to speak out?

  1. All this is so sickening. She gave birth chained to the bed. Sick people, sick religion, which came 1st, I think it was the religion.
