As I've said, going clear back t late 2001, when the nation quite understandably wanted to decisively respond to the attacks it had just experienced, I thought creating a Department of Homeland Security was an ill-advised move. We already had a Defense Department, an FBI, a CIA and a DIA. I saw lots of possibility for overlap, redundancy and mission creep. I think I made an accurate call.
You shovel lots of money into a big Washington bureaucracy and you get clowns and agenda-pushers like this bunch.
