The absurdity of FHer energy policy on full display

An Amy Harder column in the National Journal makes clear our current scenario:  The solution to the growth in our energy needs lies right beneath our feet.

North Dakota is acting on that fact, and has 3 percent unemployment.  There are problems attendant to its oil and natural-gas boom, chiefly getting sufficient equipment and supplies to job sites on time, but there are worse problems to have, as those in most other states will attest.

But consider this:  Policy as currently set by the federal executive and legislative branches is resulting in a waste of at least a third of all that wonderful energy:

Oil can be transported via pipeline, railway, or truck. Natural gas, as an invisible fuel, can be shipped only by pipeline, and its production has outpaced existing capacity. As a result, producers are burning off about one-third of the gas they extract, a process that turns methane into CO2. While the practice isn't as bad as venting straight methane, it still wastes fuel and exacerbates climate change.

There is no other explanation for this set of circumstances than orchestrated decline.
