This regime holds the very civilization that spawned the country it rules in utter disdain
This regime is so keen to make Muslims like it that it is willing to give a pass to the the slaughter of Christians in such African nations as Nigeria and Egypt. It also willing to turn over recidivist jihadists detained at Gitmo to home countries.

The Good: "We are still in a long, drawn-out conflict with al-Qaeda. To somehow argue that al-Qaeda is quote 'on the run' comes from a degree of unreality that to me is really incredible."
