The Islamic State has taken credit for an explosion on Saturday in Kabul that killed at least 80 people and injured hundreds more. The explosion happened during a protest against a power line attended by mostly Shia Muslims. ISIS is a Sunni group. But let's focus on real problems, like the hydrofluorocarbons our refrigerators and air conditioners are producing, or making the transgendered feel comfortable.

Let's focus on nothing else and then the terrorists truly have won.
ReplyDeleteMay I point out that the other end of the spectrum from focusing on nothing else is distracting ourselves with infantile delusions at the expense of preventing catastrophic attacks, beheadings and sex slavery. We are, I would submit, a lot closer to that end.
ReplyDeleteI know. You think we are to blame for every beheading. Preposterous! Are we to turn out the lights at night and just wait for an attack? Air raid drills? Reinstate the draft? The terrorists know that it is a conundrum and would love to see us running around like chickens with their heads cut off. A maniac like Trump would be the best thing that ever happened to them. Tough talk is cheap. Real cheap.
ReplyDeleteSo you think these attacks and beheadings are fine? You're pleased when the attacks happen here?
ReplyDeleteYeah, right. You know me, always thrilled by blood and mayhem. No they're not at all fine. What a stupid ass question.
ReplyDeleteAll of this crazy shit, like Orlando is beyond comprehension. But, I cannot control this. Can you? Vote for Trump. He'll do it and do it quickly. Want to see some serious international squawking? Stick around, you just might enjoy it, law and order abider.
ReplyDeleteHere is who you are leaning towards now that you are boxed into a corner. Be afraid! Be very afraid! And try to spread it far and wide.
ReplyDeleteIn this speech, we have finally seen the answer to the perplexing question of just what political philosophy Donald Trump embraces. It is Caesarism: belief in a leader of great strength who, by force of personality, imposes order on a land plagued by danger. If you want to know why Trump laid such emphasis on “law and order”—using Richard Nixon’s 1968 rhetoric in a country where violent crime is at a 40-year low—it is because nations fall under the sway of a Caesar only when they are engulfed by fear. And the subtext of this acceptance speech was: be afraid; be very afraid.

Oh, so since both of our presidential candidates are awful, it's time to not address the jihadist threat anymore?
ReplyDeleteWe can do it without Trump. Without Nettie either.
ReplyDeleteSo, I'm assuming that since you don't want to address the topic at hand, that it's because you think it's fine if jihadist attacks occur, particularly in Western nations, particularly in post-America, more and more frequently, it's fine, because our diplomatic, military and intelligence-gathering governmental functions have truly important things to tend to, like hydrofluorocarbons and diversity.
