The deep thoughts of the not-so-inevitable Hillary Clinton

This one's getting lots of coverage, so maybe you've seen it by now.  But sheesh . . . empathize?

"This is what we call smart power," Clinton said to a small audience at Georgetown. "Using every possible tool and partner to advance peace and security. Leaving no one on the sidelines. Showing respect even for one's enemies. Trying to understand, in so far as psychologically possible, empathize with their perspective and point of view. Helping to define the problems, determine the solutions. That is what we believe in the 21st century will change -- change the prospects for peace."

Let's see, how many sound bites from this year alone do we now have available as 2016 weapons?  "We were broke," "businesses don't create jobs."

And how long can she keep up those persnickety speaking-engagement riders with the stringent requirements for hummus and bottled water if she's playing to half-empty halls?

No, Hillary is not our greatest problem.  I'd wager that the squishes and technocrats with Rs behind their names are a far more immediate danger.

These three are your greatest treasures.
Simple in actions and thoughts, you return to the source of being.
Patient with both friends and enemies,
you accord with the way things are.
    Compassionate toward yourself,
you reconcile all beings in the world.”

  2. There is nothing moral about letting your enemies destroy your civilization.

  3. Perhaps, if that is indeed what is happening. Oh, I forgot, we have to go down with Israel. OK, perhaps you go with complexity, impatience and disdain. Might work for you, we'll see. Tao has no time table but its own. Rock on!
