This is so typical of this administration. There is no area of government activity with more constitutional primacy, as well as importance in this dangerous modern world, than national security. So who does the regime appoint as National Security Council spokesman? This pasty-faced, narrow-shouldered, snot-nosed, effete little dweeb named Tommy Vietor.
He goes on FNC's Special Report last evening, to answer questions about the timing of Ben Rhodes's email, and Brett Baier made mincemeat out of him. I watched it live with my mouth agape. (Video at link.) Vietor was finally reduced to saying, "Dude, that was like two years ago." Seriously. That sentence is going to follow him around the rest of his public life. I've already seen it several places on the Net so far this morning.
That's the level of seriousness we get out of this administration. A bunch of metrosexual narcissists with no real interest in understanding the behavior of the world's various actors, good and bad.
And it was only yesterday afternoon that I asked in a post right here how much sillier and more perilous all this can get.
