It doesn't look like Congress is going to pass a new farm bill before the end of the year.
Is there a more subsidized industry in America than agriculture?
I know lots of farmers (I contribute frequently to a faming magazine). Yes, they are generally among the hardest workers I know, solid family people, generally Christian. Smart, and in this age, technologically savvy. But get them talking about the possibility of Congress tinkering with crop insurance or price supports, and they get quite nervous. They do quite well relative to most folks in the MEC's post-America. It's time they unburdened themselves of that mindset.
