As I noted yesterday, Martin Dempsey was mum to the point of coming across as vacuous at the hearing yesterday, but surely in that mind of his, some thoughts about Syria have swirled.  Well, indeed they have.  Seems that last month, he described any kind of military action there a "fool's errand."  He put it in writing.  You can ask Carl Levin.
