"Deeply concerned": yeah, right

Iran continues to very concretely demonstrate its contempt for the "international community":

Iran has carried out a new medium range ballistic missile test in breach of two United Nations Security Council resolutions, a senior U.S. official told Fox News on Monday.
Western intelligence says the test was held Nov. 21 near Chabahar, a port city in southeast Iran’s Sistan and Baluchestan Province near the border with Pakistan.  The launch took place from a known missile test site along the Gulf of Oman.
The missile, known as a Ghadr-110, has a range of 1,800 – 2000 km, or 1200 miles, and is capable of carrying a nuclear warhead. The missile fired in November is an improved version of the Shahab 3, and is similar to the precision guided missile tested by Iran on Oct. 10, which elicited strong condemnation from members of the U.N. Security Council.
“The United States is deeply concerned about Iran's recent ballistic missile launch," Samantha Power, U.S. Ambassador to the U.N., said in a statement after the last Iranian ballistic missile test in October.
President Obama mentioned the Iranian missile test during a press conference on Oct. 16 and said the United States was preparing to brief the U.N. sanctions committee. He added that it would not derail the nuclear deal.
"I think what we'll be doing is we'll review, as we have in the past, any violations of U.N. resolutions, and we'll deal with them much as we have in the past," Obama said of the October incident.
Which is to say not do a damn thing.

  1. A standing President is still the President of this nation. When the disrespect for this office becomes so clear this will only harm the Country. Then it is nothing more than a house dived. It is offensive to our Country to disrespect the office of President. That is the definition of a terrorist, foreign or sovereign.

  2. If the person holding the office respects it, I can concur with your position. But when the office is held by someone who hates what the Untied States of America is all about, as is currently the case, he has so defiled the office that we are not really talking about the presidency of the USA but rather the office of dictator of post-America.

  3. Make America great again. That is up to every man woman and child in this great land. Absurd how many here seem to be buying the Trump line. Gotta fire up that Tea Party faction or they will fight you every step of the way. Seems a lot of folks like big mouths and tough talk. They've been riding Obama's ass for 7 years now. I remember early on they vehemently whined about how he accepted a book as a gift from the defiled. Then they did not like the idea of him defiling Notre Dame. It never lets up. What an ugly country we live in these days.

  4. On the heels of Bush 41's trashing of Rummy & Cheney in his book, comes Bob Dole trashing Cruz. Pubs are trashing eachother so we don't need to. I'd guess there will be a whole lot of hell no we won't go alongs if the bloggie's ilk manages to get elected. Oh well, we might find common ground to unite against Trump. There are a lot of seemingly insoluble problems these days, but, oh well, what else is new?

  5. Here's how I see it: No matter who wins the presidency - and it's likely to be one of these three:Squirrel-Hair (nightmare scenario), Hillionaire (nightmare scenario), or Cruz (only hope for restoring the United States of America, however remote) - both houses of Congress are likely to remain GOP-controlled. But it won't make much difference, given that post-American society is going to become even more bitterly polarized, that discourse is going to become even more crude and raw, and the temptation to distract ourselves with "music" sports and porn will grow even greater. And then we'll be sufficiently softened up for conquest by one of our jihadist enemies.

Dear God, I pray I'm wrong, but no scenario looks more likely.

  6. Music, sports and porn seemed to have kept us going all along. If we atop enjoying such diversions aren't we playing right into the hands of terrorists? Let there be war on earth?

  8. I have a better idea: How about if we turn with a commitment as never before to the one true living God and live as individuals and as a nation according to His will?

  9. Billions think they are doing just that. So no music in your world? No sports? Porn will always be with us too but I think that is in a category all its own. Just know that our sins are forgiven as are yours.
