Few things in life are as satisfying as a resolute smack down of Robert Reich

And Arnold Ahlert supplies one at Frontpage.  Refutes the seven claims in Reich's new manifesto one-by-one.

In fact, before he gets to the seven points, he points out a glaring problem with Reich's whole premise:

“What are they really after?” Reich begins, never bothering to explain who “they” are. His rant connects “seven dots” that point to a conspiracy of class oppressors who are “sinking” the poor with their opposition to big-government dependency programs, such as Food Stamps and long-term unemployment benefits. And once “they” get their way, “you’ll do exactly as they tell you,” Reich says.

I guess "they" is anybody who has problems with expanding Medicaid, cutting food stamps, involving government in "job training," and curtailing the power of unions.  And this business of "they" commanding the "you" who is reading his missive, so that "you'll do exactly what they tell you" has it ass-backwards.  Pro-freedom-prosperity-and-American-greatness folks don't want to tell anybody what to do. It's the pro-decline-and-tyranny crowd that wants everyone in a state of dependence and a cattle-like diminishment of their humanity.
