The total disconnect between our overlords and us

Check out the results of this Quinnipiac poll:

When Quinnipiac asked voters "What do you think should be the top priority for President Obama and Congress in 2014?" -- income inequality earned 1%, class inequality earned 1%, gun issues earned 1%, and immigration earned only 2%.
More bad news for a media desperate to further their Global Warming hoax through the dark art of portraying everyday weather as The Worst Ever, is that only 2% of the public see the environment as a priority.
Issues the American people unsurprisingly do list as top priorities are the economy (15%), jobs/unemployment (16%), and healthcare (18%). And it is in all three of those areas where Obama's standing with the American people is in the dumpster. On the economy and healthcare, the president is upside down on approval 39-56% and 36-59% , respectively.

But, you see, what we're concerned about doesn't matter.  It's not on the agenda right now, and as far as the Most Equal Comrade and his junta are concerned, the agenda will be followed.

  1. Well, in 2008 the top issue was Iraq which is now gone from the list. Of course jobs & the economy were up there too back then, despite 8 years of a Republican administration, we all know what happened to the economy at the terminus of the Bush administration. Interesting to still see that health care is still "up there." The debate rages on. We know that doing nothing about health care, the economy and jobs is where you Pubs are at. Doing nothing means we get something, right?

  2. Uh oh, I shouldn't say I want to get something. That is reserved for serious players in the economy and jobs areas.

  3. It's not accurate to say Pubs want to do nothing about the economy and jobs. We want to drastically cut taxes of all kinds for everybody. A lot of us want to abolish the EPA, repeal Frank-Dodd and get rid of the minimum wage. Re: health care: the outlines of the conservative prescription are well known: Completely privatize it. Let health insurance be sold across state lines. Decouple health insurance from employment. Offer tax breaks when people can document that they have set up health-specific savings accounts. Educate the public that the only health insurance most people need is catastrophic care coverage.

  4. In a sense, your charge is accurate. We righties often have to field the question, "So what is your program for this issue?" The answer is that we tend not to think in terms of macroscopic "programs."
