Maybe if we'd brought back Harry and Louise in 2008, things would be different

Great San Diego Union-Tribune editorial on why, when socialist health care was being seriously floated the first time, during the Billy Jeff the Zipper era, it went nowhere.  Years later, the MEC team got the message loud and clear and that's why he MEC started repeating his now infamous lie about being able to keep a health care plan you like.

UPDATE: A Thomas Lifson piece at The American Thinker makes the same point.  The MEC team knew that the Harry and Louise ad put the squelch on socialist health care, and that they'd have to take a less honest route to their true goal.
