Squirrel-Hair's latest unhinged and disgusting remarks - today's edition

He tries to take credit for Iran freeing the four post-Americans:

“So I’ve been hitting them hard, and I think I might have had something to do with it,” Trump said at the South Carolina Tea Party Convention in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
“You want to know the truth, who’s using it? It’s a part of my staple thing. I mean, I go crazy when I hear about this,” he added.
“They’re in one of the worst prisons in the world, and we had to do something, so I’d always talk about it.”
Um, Squirrel-Hair, you really want to stand by that assertion?

If you go to Google and search for articles containing “Donald Trump” and “Jason Rezaian”* you get 0 freakin hits between July 1, 2015 and January 10, 2016. In fact, the first time the names appear in the same article is when Trump is complaining about the deal (by the way, I’m glad those men are out of Iran, but there are two additional Americans still in prison there, and the deal was a horrible kowtowing to Iran by the administration). If you go to a broader search, and use “iran” and “prisoners” you find that Trump has mentioned them twice. Once at a rally in July and again in September.
And, in a conversation with George Stephanopoulos in ABC this morning, he takes the gloves off against Ted as only S-H can, replete with yet another example of how negotiating deals is his highest value:

When asked about Ted Cruz’s “New York values” charge, Trump said, “The truth is, he’s a nasty guy. Nobody likes him. Nobody in Congress likes him. Nobody likes him anywhere, once they get to know him. He’s a very — he’s got a edge that’s not good. You can’t make deals with people like that, and it’s not a good thing for the country. Very nasty guy.”
Ah, but, as revealed in his conversation with CNN's Jake Tapper, he has "a great relationship with God." I guess he invited the Almighty to lunch and they worked out a deal and God has ever since had very nice things to say about him. And then he immediately pivots to his "great relationship with evangelicals," as evidenced by poll numbers.

It's looking like all that talk a few weeks ago about how S-H was learning to be a more savvy politician, convey seriousness about policy, and show some depth as a human being was a bit premature.
