It allowed Ann Coulter to pop off with the deportation remark, which will elicit derisive poppings-off from those with a vested interest in portraying Coulter as representative of contemporary conservatism. It also drew praise from people whose praise for any Pub is a signal that said Pub has come down with Reasonable Gentleman Syndrome: David Brooks, Andrea Mitchell, Richard Haass, David Axelrod, Jeb Bush.
It has been said that the political choices in America are evil and stupid. This year, it has become a three-way choice, with wild being added to the mix.
And conservative has yet to get an airing.
