Brian Beutler must have written his New Republic piece entitled "Ben Carson's Fall is a Damning Indictment of Conservative Politics" before Politico de facto conceded that they were the ones doing the fabricating.
I did find it somewhat bemusing that Beutler thinks conservatives have a habit of rushing their new enthusiasms - he cites Palin as well as Carson - onto the political stage without properly vetting them, when it is the Freedom-Haters who make a practice of that. John Edwards, anyone? Wendy Davis?
