Europe seems to be getting a clue regarding Iran

Maybe patty-cake with this bunch isn't so wise after all:

European leaders are opening the door to possible sanctions on Iran in the wake of terror plots across the continent -- even as they criticize the Trump administration for reimposing sanctions on the Islamic Republic’s oil exports and financial dealings.
Denmark’s intelligence agency on Tuesday said that it had foiled an Iranian plot to kill an opposition activist, and had arrested a Norwegian of Iranian descent. The suspect has denied the allegations and is being held in custody. Iran’s Foreign Ministry has denied any involvement and has issued a “strong protest” to the Danish government.
The Wall Street Journal reported that Danish diplomats are now calling for sanctions on Tehran, and the idea won broad support at a Wednesday meeting of E.U. ambassadors -- with at least eight countries backing calls for action -- including France and the U.K.
“I appreciate the support from my colleague @Theresa-May today. In close collaboration with UK and other countries, we will stand up to Iran,” Danish Prime Minister Danish Prime Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen said after a meeting with British Prime Minister Theresa May.

Three have been eight terror plots in Europe and the US so far this year.

  1. Europe never had illusions about Iran, which is why they signed on to the most rigorous inspection regime in history during the minute and a half we had their nuclear weapons program under our thumb.

But thanks to the brain-dead Trump/Bolton/Pompeo/Krusty-the-Clown policy, we now get to add "nuclear weapons development" back to our list of concerns about Iran (which, of course, accrues huge profits to certain special interests).

And that's all that really matters, right? The profits.

  2. The economy will prematurely ejaculate, and we are already hearing beefs from Bolton about inadequate funding. How very special for the military-industrial complex--a huge tax cut and now a big shot in the arm. Surely their insured and pensioned people are not cattle like the rest of us.

  3. You guys, here's a fact about our universe: America has real enemies and must be prepared to address anything they might be cooking up.

You never appease them. You never treat them as legitimate nation-states.

  4. So you break every treaty you want to. Worked against the savages in our way here stateside. I suppose God smiled at our manifest destiny too, right?

  5. "Since his arrival in early April, Bolton has helped to trash, weaken, or undermine four international treaties, organizations and agreements. They range from the major, like the Iran nuclear deal, to the minor, like an obscure 144-year-old international postal treaty from which the Trump administration withdrew last week."

"If it is a dream come true for Bolton, it is a nightmare for the Washington diplomatic establishment he has relished torturing for the past three decades. In a Monday op-ed, Joe Cirincione, president of the Ploughshares Fund, wrote that Bolton is “on a serial killing spree of arms control agreements” and asked: “Can he be stopped before he kills again?” Probably not. Although Bolton got off to an awkward start with Trump, he has regained his footing and seen his influence in the Oval Office grow, Trump officials say. The trip to Russia, a sensitive diplomatic mission and Bolton’s second visit to the country since taking the job, is the latest sign of his growing clout."

  8. Are you aware Ploughhares' original purpose was to support the nuclear-freeze movement, which was organized by Soviet front groups?

It's given grants to the Environmental Defense Fund, Friends of the Earth, Human Rights Watch, the Institute for Policy Studies, the Tides Foundation, and many other radical leftist organizations.

It considers itself a partner of such groups as Code Pink, Demos and the Campaign to End Israeli Occupation.

It is a prominent face of Western civilization's enemy.

  9. Holy crap! I agree with their quote though which is not false, but perhaps funny to some, reproduced here again for your repeated enjoyment: "Joe Cirincione, president of the Ploughshares Fund, wrote that Bolton is “on a serial killing spree of arms control agreements” and asked: “Can he be stopped before he kills again?”

You still want to kill all the Commies and even those you deem as Commies don't you? Sounds McCarthyist to me. It could be that someday the only good leftie in this country will be deemed a: you know what...huh?

  10. You worry about radical Mislims incinerating us in our beds but many worry that it will be Donald J Trump who causes it.

    1. Of course you realize that the Plowshares' president's quote isn't the only negative opinion about Bolton' treaty trashing out there, including mine.
