Your overlords' latest exercise in tyranny

A parlor game in which I occasionally indulge is which five cabinet-level federal departments I'd get rid of immediately.

Don't you think HUD would be a likely candidate?

And, by the way, the Most Equal Comrade is a goose-stepping jackboot:

A report published this morning by The Hill says President Barack Obama is pressing forward with new Department of Housing and Urban Development regulations that will withhold block grants to communities if they don’t build enough "affordable housing in wealthy neighborhoods." The executive order, known as the “Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing Act,” was issued by the president last year and will be used to promote racial quotas in white suburban neighborhoods. It will also force thousands of communities to house the nation’s burgeoning population of new immigrants.
“HUD is working with communities across the country to fulfill the promise of equal opportunity for all,” a spokesperson for the federal agency said, according to the Hill report. “The proposed policy seeks to break down barriers to access to opportunity in communities supported by HUD funds.”
In other words, it doesn't matter that the families who currently live in these neighborhoods worked hard to achieve their American Dream. It is racist to deny that same outcome to those who haven't worked for it. It should just be handed to them out of "fairness."

So much for everybody living where they live based on making their own determination as to what is the best among their set of options.

This is why we call them Freedom-Haters.

Of course, you know one solution would be to do away with federal block grants. Anybody up for keeping the flow of gummint money as local as possible?
