Israel has always had a sizeable socialist element in its politics and policy realms. Since instituting socialist health care in the 1980s, Israel has experienced several doctors' strikes. As for the other examples you cite, they are widely recognized as miserable failures.
Hotly debated, not widely recognized. Miserable failures? In what way? I doubt they will look to the Unitied States' previous model as a way towards perfection. With us it is fascism.
