Why we call them Freedom-Haters - today's edition

This is seriously happening in post-America.  The EEOC is suing Wisconsin Plastics, Inc. for firing workers for their inability to speak English.

  1. Why did they hire these people in the 1st place? Were there language qualifications placed upon their hiring, like you must exhibit demonstrable progress in learning English? Did they have to whip out their sex organ)s) and urinate into a container? Ever done that dude? You ought to try it sometime if you have not. Your hero Ronnie implemented that one.

  2. What does urinating into a container have to do with the issue that is the subject of this post?

    Executive Order 12564 - Drug-Free Federal Workplace
    September 15, 1986

    Ronald Reagan
    1986: Book II

    I, Ronald Reagan, President of the United States of America, find that:

    Drug use is having serious adverse effects upon a significant proportion of the national work force and results in billions of dollars of lost productivity each year; The Federal government, as an employer, is concerned with the well-being of its employees, the successful accomplishment of agency missions, and the need to maintain employee productivity; The Federal government, as the largest employer in the Nation, can and should show the way towards achieving drug-free workplaces through a program designed to offer drug users a helping hand and, at the same time, demonstrating to drug users and potential drug users that drugs will not be tolerated in the Federal workplace;

    Sec. 3. Drug Testing Programs.

    (a) The head of each Executive agency shall establish a program to test for the use of illegal drugs by employees in sensitive positions. The extent to which such employees are tested and the criteria for such testing shall be determined by the head of each agency, based upon the nature of the agency's mission and its employees' duties, the efficient use of agency resources, and the danger to the public health and safety or national security that could result from the failure of an employee adequately to discharge his or her position.

    (b) The head of each Executive agency shall establish a program for voluntary employee drug testing.

    (c) In addition to the testing authorized in subsections (a) and (b) of this section, the head of each Executive agency is authorized to test an employee for illegal drug use under the following circumstances:

    (1) When there is a reasonable suspicion that any employee uses illegal drugs;

    (2) In an examination authorized by the agency regarding an accident or unsafe practice; or

    (3) As part of or as a follow-up to counseling or rehabilitation for illegal drug use through an Employee Assistance Program.

    (d) The head of each Executive agency is authorized to test any applicant for illegal drug use.

    Sec. 8. Effective Date. This Order is effective immediately.

  4. But you are right, urinating into a container is not germaine to anything other than the heading of your post, blaming the damned Freedom Haters again. Ronnie was one of the most damnable, in my opinion only. You freedom lovers still have a crush on him. But I think it's provisional freedom your way or the highway. Although it irritates the patriotic, what happened to freedom of speech? Even if it is in another language. Did not this employer that is being so wronged realize they were hiring sub-Americans who preferred to speak their native tongue? Do you feel threatened? I already know the answer to that is a resounding yes. Until it all goes your way we must endure your incessant carping I guess.

  5. How do you explain Cuban freedom lovers who fled to Miami in droves, still vote Republican but have turned an American city into a Latin one?

  6. They became Americans in their hearts - embraced the principles the Framers were driven by - so they're definitely welcome here.

  7. But their culture (and other Hispanics) pretty much define Miami today.

    "Don't get upset if people speak to you directly in Spanish. Yes, we know we are part of the rest of the country (well sort of), but a lot of our local people have lived here for more than 30 years but still don't speak English. They don't really need to. There are enough people here and visitors from South and Central America that they can speak only in their native tongues. Just tell them 'No hablo Español' and they will do their best to help you. Treat Miami as if you were visiting a foreign country, especially if you head to downtown or Calle Ocho. It is part of our beauty, our style. Try not to lose your patience—someone will help you eventually."—Miami chef and native Michelle Bernstein, owner of Michy's restaurant.

  8. Some developments in this world occur rather gradually. If these people are truly here for the freedom and opportunity, they will inevitably be led to explore the roots of why America offers that, and understand that it behooves them to learn some English. In the meantime, it is heartening to see that they are not here to sign up for dependency on Leviathan.
