Sometimes the MEC's attitude infuriates me as much as his ideology
At a presser with South African president Jacob Zuma, he speaks of "my press," meaning the US media covering his visit. and tells it to "behave." Compares it to the South African press, which as Joel Pollack at Breitbart goes on to clarify, has the Zuma regime breathing down its neck all the time. Still, Zuma wouldn't consider telling South African journalists to "behave."

ReplyDeleteThe irony of the not-so-subtle hints to the press to keep their questions at a minimum is that lately, the Obama administration has been in the news for targeting journalists. One would think that even if he was just joking, the president would consider the 'optics' of his comments before making them.

I don't think he was joking at all. I think he is just plain emboldened in his Stalinism.
ReplyDeleteWhy would he be at all emboldened? Attacks are coming in from all sides. Well, I think he was joking. Humor apparently doesn't cut it either as he took a lot of crap for his performance at the National Press Banquet too.
