It would be hard to top Hillionaire as the worst Secretary of State ever, but it looks like Global-test has done it

Old and busted, nat-sec edition: You don’t screw with America. New hotness, smart-power edition: Don’t screw the Ayatollah! The Atlantic’s Jeffrey Goldberg sat down with Secretary of State John Kerry to discuss the seven-nation nuclear deal with Iran, and Kerry warned Congress that a rejection of the deal would destroy the faith that Ayatollah Ali Khameini had put into negotiations with the United States.
No, really, that’s his argument for approving the deal. If Congress blows up the deal, they will give Khameini “the ultimate screwing,” in Kerry’s own words:
The ayatollah approached this entire exercise extremely charily. He gave a kind of dismissive OK to [President Hassan] Rouhani and company to go do this, in the sense that he didn’t want to be blamed if this didn’t work. It was all Rouhani’s risk. He was playing the IRGC [Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps], and this and that. And so it was clear to me from my many conversations with Zarif and from the entire dynamic how fragile that journey was with him. The ayatollah constantly believed that we are untrustworthy, that you can’t negotiate with us, that we will screw them. This will be the ultimate screwing. We cut a deal, we stand up, it’s announced, five other countries believe in it—six other countries, because Iran signs off, and we’re the seventh—but you know, China, Russia, France, Germany, Britain, all sign off. Now the United States Congress will prove the ayatollah’s suspicion, and there’s no way he’s ever coming back. He will not come back to negotiate. Out of dignity, out of a suspicion that you can’t trust America. America is not going to negotiate in good faith. It didn’t negotiate in good faith now, would be his point.
Actually, the “ultimate screwing” will come when Iran conducts its first test of a nuclear device. Since when is the US’ trustworthiness on the line in this issue? Iran hid its pursuit of nuclear weapons for years from the IAEA, and only began negotiating on nuclear development after it got caught. It has routinely cheated on inspections, hid its military research, and continually refused to negotiate in good faith. For the past twelve years, whenever the P5+1 (or E3+3, whatever the Western formulation is at the moment) got close to an agreement with Iran, the Ayatollah and his henchmen would demand a significant concession on top of what had already been agreed, and the deal would fall apart.

Hey, Global-Test, would this be the same Ayatollah Khameini who penned this tome?

Khamenei reiterates three important words when it comes to defeating Israel: “nabudi,” which translates as “annihilation,” “imha,” which means “fading out,” and “zaval,” meaning “effacement.”
The Iranian tyrant claims that he is not an anti-Semite (although he has commonly questioned the Holocaust), and instead writes as someone grounded in “well-established Islamic principles,” the New York Post analysis reads.
Taheri reports that Khamenei’s argument is based upon his understanding of Islamic theology.
Since Jerusalem was once conquered by Muslims, the Tehran leader believes that the land must remain under Muslim rule foreverIn Islamic theology, the world is divided into Dar al-Islam (House of Islam) and Dar al-Harb (House of War). Since Khamenei believes that Israel was once part of the Dar al-Islam, Islamic law states that a Muslim government must rule over those lands.
In Palestine, Khamenei gives several more reasons why Israel must be defeated by Islamic conquerors.
First and foremost, Israel is an “ally of the American Great Satan,” linked with the United States’ “evil scheme” to take over “the heartland of the Ummah,” (Muslim world) Taheri writes.Secondly, Israel is a “hostile infidel” because it has fought wars of aggression against Muslims, Khamenei alleges.
Lastly, Israel controls Jerusalem, “Islam’s third Holy City,” the Iranian dictator adds.
Khamenei details a long-term strategy designed to make life so difficult for Jews in Israel that they are forced to abandon the country, according to the Post report, recommending a “one-state formula” for Palestine in which Muslims will rule over religious minorities.
It's getting near impossible to give G-T the benefit of the doubt. The signs that he is playing for the other team loom large.

  2. We'll see if the American people want to kick some military ass over there. Sure, if we have to. Your ilk would have had us in one over a decade ago. I ain't seen much glory in any of our wars in our lifetime. But, hey, bring us all to the light, won't ya?

  3. In an unapologetically pugnacious and partisan speech, President Obama on Wednesday sharply attacked some critics of his historic nuclear deal with Iran as deceptive war-mongers who championed the 2003 invasion of Iraq. Obama accused the agreement’s Republican opponents of effectively making common cause with the Iranian hardliners who chant “Death to America” in Tehran’s streets and potentially putting the world on the path of another Middle East war.

  4. But Nettie's still pissed. I say fuck Nettie. He can't fight and, hell, he certainly can't (won't) negotiate. I know you don't like it but I think he is one of the bigger Assholes on the planet right now.Of course you will fire back about the demise of Western Civilization and even that bull crap from scripture.

  5. Man, your hatred of Israel and the West generally (including your own country) is about as toxic as any viewpoint on anything I've encountered on anything since - well, since Hillionaire vowed to stand by Planned Parenthood.

  6. Because I am against war and for the only agreement we have after 20 plus months painstakingly negotiated by an international coalition instead of war has nothing to do with hatred of Israel and the West (including my own country). The Planned Parenthood is merely the outrage of the day. Repeal abortion. I've never said anything other than that. Birth control, I think, though, is another story. As for what I said about that bull crap from scripture pertains to the fallacious idea perpetrated in the Old Testament about a chosen race that at one time God spoke directly to special individuals. That is preposterous. Then again, we have the New Covenant that by and large said that was all bull shit. In this modern world, to hinge reality and truth on such balderdash is nearly insane, knowing what we know about reality now. No hatred here, just of needless and useless war. But we may get it anyhow. Time goes on.

  7. I'm not buying that line about hating Israel, the West and even America if I support the only deal we have after all that sweat and tears? I guess you are saying all who vote in favor are kindred spirits, eh? Balderdash!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. And, let me shamelessly remind you that I still respect Jimmy Carter, despite all the hate that's been directed at him by your ilk.

“I have complete confidence in it,” Carter said. “I believe it’s good for Iran, good for the United States, good for the world. Good for Israel. And I have complete confidence in (Secretary of State) John Kerry. I’ve known him for many years. If he says it’s binding, and that Iran will be punished if they violate it, I believe him.”

  11. Of course not one of the 10 chosen ones in the Pub debate will come near accepting this deal tonite. The obvious question then will be what are their alternatives. Diplomats from not just our country worked long and hard on this. Why are you carping? Iran does not like the deal either and there is a strong chance they'll filch on it. If so, bombs and more away from the good ole USA you know and love. My camp is sure of that, even if you call us post or even un-Americans.

  13. Yeah just a human who tries to love. Not a policy wonk and not likely to ever run for office. Bury his body when he's gone. And then go on yourself....
