Sarah Palin is one of the world's coolest people and those hard lefties who dismiss her as a joke hate everything great about Western civilization

Her speech at CPAC.  Well, not the whole thing, but the slightly-ribald-yet-perfectly-appropriate-because-it-celebrates-basic-human-robustness joke and the 32-ounce soda pop gulp.

She, as us boomers used to say, knows where it's at.

  1. She admitted to puffing pot, of course back when it was legal to do so in the state where she left her elected office prematurely to preen on the national stage and as her spouse took an indefinite leave from his well paid union job which he can get back whenever he wants. She is looking hot these days. Word has it her marriage is on the skids. Her daughter is a public joke only slightly less tasteless than the father of her first granchild. That's Politotainment! Where have youi gone Holden Caulfield? Boomers will go down in history as the
Phony Generation which is kind of understandable since so many of our preoccupations were looked upon with disdain or worse by the Greatest Generation, some of these preoccupaions such as yoga, sustainable agriculture, macrobiotic diets, meditation and sexual openness have been declared quite invigorating by the medical establishment and recommended for healthful living.

  2. The boomer preoccupations amounted to navel-gazing that distracted America from the lessons of history.

What drives the left up the wall is that the Palins are a very typical modern American family - with all the foibles and quirks found in any average of the households up and down your block or mine - and that they have found the guidebook for getting through the challenges in core conservative principles.

  3. That's why I really react with as much bemusement as ire at the vitriol and dismissal with which Leftists routinely lob at Barracuda. When she burst on the national scene in 08, it was clear she was a fabulous spokeswoman for conservatism with nothing actually weird or morally bad about her. They said, "Quick! We have to come up with some reason why she's hate-worthy or why she should be the object of derision! That guy at the top of the ticket is no threat, but she is the real deal! We have to act fast!" And their meme has infected their thinking ever since.
