This is why LITD never held its breath regarding some big, abrupt turnabout in the North Korean attitude

. . . and why we never joined the Very Stable Genius's water-carriers in assuming it was time to talk about a Nobel Prize.

Kim remains a paranoid little tyrant:

North Korea's government says it is considering calling off a planned nuclear summit between dictator Kim Jong-un and U.S. President Donald Trump.
Kim's regime said through state-run news agency KCNA that ongoing 'Max Thunder' joint military exercises between the United States and South Korea are actually a 'rehearsal for invasion' of the North.
'The United States will also have to undertake careful deliberations about the fate of the planned North Korea-U.S. summit in light of this provocative military ruckus jointly conducted with the South Korean authorities,' KCNA said.

South Korea's Yonhap News Agency reported that Pyongyang also canceled high-level talks with Seoul, scheduled for later in the day.
The North Koreans cited the military drills as the reason.
The meeting was to happen in the border town of Panmunjom, as a followup to Kim's April meeting with his South Korean counterpart, Moon Jae-In.
For crying' out loud, these drills are routine.

We now have some indication of what North Korea would / will insist on at the summit.

Touchy, touchy.

  1. Don't blame them, blame Mr. Marvelous for his NY Shitty bluster and bull shit. We know they're snakes and Donnie boy ain't no herpatologist, though quite studied on snake oil. And he's as full of it on the Middle East conundrum.

  2. Why? What did he do? This drill was planned by military personnel and really had little to do with him.

  3. I'm talking about all his blister and maligning of his predecessors in this and other international issues, his going it alone in the face of pending agreements, bit his base thinks he's almost as supernatural as he brags he is. He's full of it. And his implementers are already one time losers in the Iraq war. They've been underground since Bush ridded himself of them after the disastrous mid terms back in 'O6. The real issue for this year's midterms should be foreign policy and we need to be rid of the current strategy. This is not defeating your antagonists in commerce with the power of mega bucks. Trump is not the man for the Commander in Chief and he needs neutering.

  4. You’re not addressing the specific subject of this post. No coverage I’ve see so far references any kind of North Korean complaint other than this drill.

  5. I don't know or care whether or not I am addressing the specific subject of this post. The reason why I never held my breath about some big turnabout in North Korea's attitude is that there was never any big turnabout in North Korea's attitude. It was all Trumped up as is most everything else he does, nationally and internationally. He's merely a PT Barnum with his suckers....
