Scenes from Trumpism-world

Let's start with the VSG himself. At the White House yesterday, he said he created the Texas oil industry. Seriously. That's exactly what he said.

At the same appearance, he also said "numbers [I guess he's talking about crime statistics] are going to he going down even if we have to go and take over cities."

White House social media director and deputy chief of communications Dan Scavino posted this cartoon on Facebook:

Tucker Carlson is taking the rest of the week off to go trout fishing in the wake of his top writer's recent resignation.  Blake Neff, posting on social media as Charles XII, had amassed a considerable record of, shall we say, insensitive remarks about various demographic groups. Carlson's not going fishing with his tail between his legs, however. He defiantly ranted about "ghouls beating their chests."

I'm not as concerned about that as I am the damage done to the perception on the part of the general public of what conservatism is. The effort to address that must begin now and be vigorous.
