What is so bracing about some southern drawl from a rich oilman talking down to another country? So, what's Tillerson gonna do about that relationship? And the lady in the pants suit is gone, so why bring her into it?
ReplyDeleteWhat he is going to do is explain with candor and succinctness to Lavrov and his team exactly what the United States finds unacceptable about Russia's behavior on the world stage. If they are willing to change that behavior, the relationship can improve. If not, it won't.

ReplyDeleteBut why call it bracing? Relations are being described as the worst they've ever been. I'd think bracing would be a word used to describe relations as being the best they've ever been, but not 3 months into the Trump administration were shitting Tomahawks and pissing armadas.

ReplyDeleteAbsolutely. Am I saying that aspects of the way Trump is conducting foreign policy concern me? Certainly- but Tillerson's refreshingly sober demeanor is not among them. It's reassuring.

Work it out through established Comstitutional channels or go to your long awaited military solutions, again through well and long established channels. It's easy to talk tough and even easier to start destroying things and people in earnest.
