Pro-feeedom, pro-clarity Texans let the president know they aren't pleased:

The Texas Tea Party has sent a bold message to President Trump.

The White House has hurled blame at the House Freedom Caucus for opposing the tumultuous health care bill brought forward by Paul Ryan.

In response to all the backlash against the Caucus, the Texas Tea Party wrote a letter making it very clear that the Tea Party stands with the Freedom Caucus in opposition to Ryancare.

More than 90 conservative grassroots leaders signed the letter to send a message to Trump that he needn’t turn his back on the movement that propelled him into the Oval Office.

“To our dismay, the repeal and replace plan put forward by U.S. House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wisc.) did nothing to address the core regulatory infrastructure of Obamacare, which means that American families would still see health care costs continue to rise until at least 2026,” the letter reads.

“This is unacceptable.”

“The Freedom Caucus is doing exactly what their supporters and their constituents sent them to Washington to do,” said JoAnn Fleming, the Executive Director of Grassroots America – We the People.

As a volunteer conservative activist in Texas for more than 25 years, Fleming has also served as the Texas Legislature’s Tea Party Caucus Advisory Committee, Chairman of Lt. Governor Dan Patrick’s Grassroots Advisory Board, and an adviser to the Freedom Caucus of the Texas state legislature.

“Frankly, the people that I work with in Texas, all these grassroots leaders on this letter – they worked their tails off to send Republicans to Washington and to offices at every level of government — to stand strong behind conservative, limited government, constitutional conservative principles,” Fleming said.

Fleming says that her letter seeks to make it abundantly clear that Trump would be making a grave mistake to turn his back on the Tea Party and the House Freedom Caucus.

“We don’t agree with you, Mr. President, on the approach you’re taking toward the Freedom Caucus and toward the promises we intend to hold the GOP to. They made a promise that they were going to repeal Obamacare, and that means take out all of the big government structure that was there, the mandates, and to get us back to a patient-centered, free-market based approach to health care. This bill did not do any of that and what we believe is that it would have driven up costs, premiums.”

The Tea Party groups of Texas strongly urge Trump to work with the HFC if he actually plans to “drain the swamp” like he claims he wants to do. 

So "move on" to other issues at your own peril, S-H. The myriad promises of legislator after legislator over the past seven years rings loudly in the ears of patriots.

Scott Pruitt YES!

Squirrel-Hair gets more enigmatic by the day.

Less than a week after he meets with Al Gore - with climate-change-hooey-swallowing daughter Ivanka by his side - he appoints Oklahoma AG Scott Pruitt as EPA head.

Somebody with his head on straight has S-H's ear.

Obviously, the first thing to be said is that it is a glorious move. Pruitt understands that the Clean Power Plan, the Clean Water Act and the Paris Accord are tyranny of the rankest sort. He's long been involved as an attorney in defending individual freedom against government heavy-handedness.

I could cite / link to myriad examples of the Freedom-Haters gnashing their teeth and peeing their pants - Think Progress, Daily Kos and Mother Jones are all having seizures over it - but I think the one I'll share here is the "objective journalism" report on it, from the pale, sweaty, gasping and convulsing New York Times, which characterizes Pruitt as a "climate change denialist" in the title.

I don't like Donald Trump a bit more than I ever did, but he's been guided into making some brilliant moves lately, and the Freedom-Haters know it.

Their moment to steer the course of our civilization is over, and their agony about that is palpable.

Ate-up Bots and latecomers to Squirrel-Hair alike, I implore you to consider what you're jettisoning

This morning - it was in the course of station-hopping, I swear - I came across a little of Laura Ingraham's radio show, and she was still at it, still being a firebrand Squirrel-Hair-bot. She was taking the tack one has seen since the video came out Friday evening, and certainly since last night's debate - namely, that in a country with a $19 trillion debt, a collapsing "A"CA, a foreign policy that is putting the nation in peril, in which the rule of law is a mockery, not to mention with a Democratic candidate as incompetent, corrupt and hard-left as the public has ever been offered, the proper perspective on S-H's glaring shortcomings is that they matter little. Time to "rebuild this country," as Ingraham put it.

Here's my problem with that position: Not only does it signal desperation, but it is an indication of cynicism.

Ingraham spoke of the GOP defections over the weekend, and then went on about how "Democrats never break ranks."

No doubt about it. They gave those Kennedy brothers passes on some pretty awful behavior. Robert Byrd. Billy Jeff the Zipper.

Let's stop and ask, though, whether that is intrinsically a good thing.

Pubs aren't like that. Howard Baker went after Richard Nixon like a hunting hound. Outside of his Congressional district, Mark Sanford is generally considered a world-class jerk. The Republican Study Committee, a conservative group in Congress, was formed in response to W's squishiness on a number of key issues.

What that "guy-talk-can-get-pretty-raunchy-get-over-it" line of argument amounts to is a concession that our culture is now so rotten that it's time to "move on" from any discussion of standards. That it's so damn late in the game that it's time to forget concepts such as a gentlemanly approach to life.

There goes the baby with the bath water.

That's raw nihilism. It is completely counter to the kind of world envisioned by conservatism.

Rebuilding this country is going to be a Sisyphean undertaking if we don't start with the root reason it's in shambles. If at this grave moment we do not insist on standards, it's pointless to talk about tax rates and economic growth.

No, sorry. It's time to shut this thing down. Let's pray that Mike Pence looks deeply at the role history has handed him and does what is right.

It's time to walk away from Squirrel-Hair before the spiritual damage is any greater.

Endangering the nation in the name of bringing social-engineering foolishness to combat training

The regime that has its grip on post-America's throat has, as we know, as one of its objectives, getting inside the heads of individual comrades and checking to see if their innermost thoughts are in compliance with its identity-politics agenda.

That has extended to the realm that most directly affects our safety:

All Marines are now being forced to undergo training to erase “unconscious bias,” as women start to enter all combat roles for the first time.

The Marine Corps wants this training to already be underway before the first set of female recruits hits boot camp, in order to clamp down on potential misgivings and ill-will, Military.com reports.

Teams will spread around the Corps to provide two-day seminars to officers first, and then those officers will in turn instruct those of lower rank under their command to avoid prejudice based on race and especially gender. Seminars will also include a discussion on some practical examples of the obstacles that will present themselves and ways units can overcome them.

The reason for the training is mostly because male Marines have by and large been totally opposed to allowing women into combat roles. A survey conducted in 2012 by the Center for Naval Analyses found two-thirds of males Marines disapproved of integrating women, and a third of female Marines also opposed the idea. Although the Pentagon released a trove of documents in support of Defense Secretary Ash Carter’s decision to open up all combat roles to women, the unfavorable survey was curiously not included in the document dump.

The men who have heretofore taken care of the business which quite naturally falls to masculine nature and not to feminine will be made to get their minds right, and the first step is to hide from the public the fact that, as of now, they refuse to get their minds right.

The disconnect of the pointy-heads

Two stories - both out of Europe, although I could include one from post-America, that being the Most Equal Comrade's tear-stained performance during yesterday's rant against "the gun lobby" - that show our self-appointed leadership class has the prioritization skills of an infant at best.

The mayor of Cologne says this about the sexual assaults of unprecedented scale being inflicted - by young men of Arab  / northern African origin - on the female citizens of her city:

The Mayor of Cologne has spoken out about the attacks, but her carefully chosen words are unlikely to delight many. Rather than addressing the root causes of the violence — unlimited mass migration and a totally failed system of integration — the newly elected pro-migrant mayor instead blamed the victims of the sexual abuse for having failed to defend themselves against the immigrant attackers.

Speaking on live television this afternoon mayor Henriette Reker, who was near-fatally stabbed in the run up to October elections by an anti mass migration campaigner, said in future women would have to be better prepared in her city to deal with migrants. She remarked: “The women and young girls have to be more protected in the future so these things don’t happen again.

“This means, they should go out and have fun, but they need to be better prepared, especially with the Cologne carnival coming up. For this, we will publish online guidelines that these young women can read through to prepare themselves”.

Then there is the tone of this year's annual pow-wow of the biggest poo-bahs among our administrative / managerial betters:

 These developments are occurring against a backdrop of a new North Korean nuclear - probably hydrogen-bomb - test, a looming Sunni-Shiite conflagration, Afghanistan once again falling to the Taliban, stock markets throughout the world roller-coastering, an FBI increasingly at odds with its parent DoJ, primarily over the magnitude of Hillionaire's e-mail transgressions.
