Ben Shapiro at Daily Wire lists seven reasons why he feels the Tillerson choice is downright "rotten."
The two that compel me to see things his ways are these:
The other five are fairly convincing as well.2. Tillerson Is Pro-Global Warming Legislation. As Jim Geraghty of National Review points out this morning, Tillerson has been an advocate of anthropomorphic global warming:At ExxonMobil, we share the view that the risks of climate change are serious and warrant thoughtful action. Addressing these risks requires broad-based, practical solutions around the world. Importantly, as a result of the Paris agreement, both developed and developing countries are now working together to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions, while recognizing differing national responsibilities, capacities and circumstances. In our industry, the best hope for the future is to enable and encourage long-term investments in both proven and new technologies, while supporting effective policies. Which is what we are doing. We have long supported a carbon tax as the best policy of those being considered.4. As Head of Exxon, Tillerson Veered Left on Social Issues. Tony Perkins of Family Research Council says that Tillerson’s a rotten pick thanks to his embrace of leftist social policy at Exxon, including funding Planned Parenthood and pushing the Boy Scouts to include gay scoutmasters. Here’s Perkins: “if these are the kinds of deals Tillerson makes….then who knows what sort of "diplomacy" he would champion at DOS?”
Memo to Squirrel-Hair: What was wrong with John Bolton?
Bolton's not military-industrial enough?
ReplyDelete"Diplomacy" in quotes. Cute, real cute war dog!
ReplyDeleteDon't you have reservations about a figure who has his views about a fetal-murder outfit like Planned Parenthood or the normalizing of abnormality by the Boy Scouts?
ReplyDeleteNot surprising, all the corporate dudes were for both. Fetal murder has been the law of the land for over 40 years, and, although upsetting, nothing to get your undies in a bunch about now. Strange that a lot of fundies felt Trump was the saint in that regardd, overlooking his obvious satanic qualities. And get over the gay thing will you? It's sure over you. Gay is here to stay. Everywhere. It always was here. Just out of the closet and that's an overall very good thing.
ReplyDeletePrayers headed your way.
ReplyDeleteThanks. I'm with Il Papa!

ReplyDeleteI have reservations about this pick because he's a rich corporate dude
ReplyDeleteand you, my dear bloggie, just might meditate on the separation between church and state. I will also pray for all you neo-Nazis who are not interested in at least stopping good people from arrest and jail for possession and/or ingestion of that so dastardly lied about "Schedule 1" drug called marihuana (know why it's spelled that way? The Nazis who banned it wanted to connect it to the Spic population.)
ReplyDeleteSave that for a post on weed policy.
ReplyDeleteYou brought prayers for me into it. You can do what you want as the blogmeister.
ReplyDeletePrayers because of the position you apparently take that God's word means nothing
ReplyDeleteI just have to post it is so interesting to watch Quick and Ding's Parley
ReplyDeleteGod's word means something. History proves that God's word is debatable, even warrable. All I know is that the Garden often eludes us, but it's still there. Ask a gay man what his sexual attraction and fantasies have been from a young age and keep track of their answers. Then come again and let's talk.

ReplyDeleteNorkor is freer than us in this regards, esp. after Jefferson Beauregard Sessions II, who once said good people don't smoke pot" and who is our new AG takes after us again. Hey, it pertains to the Trump cabinet and hence germane to this post, in my concerted opinion.
ReplyDeleteSmoking Marijuana is legal in North Korea
ReplyDeleteAccording to reporters who’ve visited the country, you can both consume and purchase pot pretty freely and not worry about being prosecuted anywhere in North Korea.
You have lost all claims to seriousness. Bringing up North Korea and weed - neither of which have anything to do with the subject of this post - and using them to claim that there is a way in which "NorKor is freer than us" is the act of an intellectual infant.
ReplyDeleteAnd "God's word is debatable" seals the deal.
ReplyDeleteI said history has proven God's word is debatable and that truth is self evident
ReplyDeleteAnd it's true that when it comes to pot that we've been lied to about and results in incarceration or worse here stateside with new battles on multiple fronts looming with an AG who says good people don't smoke pot.
ReplyDeleteAnd, other than their slimy leadership, I believe most North Koreans, like most Americans are truly good people. Watch us go to war or the brink of it over weaponry that we have that we say they can't have. What if some country told us we can't have ours?
ReplyDeleteThis has descended into a level that is embarrassingly disconnected from basic reality, let alone a take on the world that has even the most remotely moral component.
ReplyDeleteSo you say, but you need to understand to begin to make peace rather than war. Listening to Mark Levine in rush hour traffic rail on about peacemaking by Dems and Pubs n the past, damning the Ruasian appeasers, damning Teddy, Tunney, Baker, Rice and Gates. And crying about the Boulton diss. Wag wah wah, all the way to war again which has not yielded squat since 1945.
ReplyDeleteFinally, your ideas and my ideas and every other human's ideas about God are still debatable. History proves it!
ReplyDeleteSo you admit that war made the world a better place in 1945?
ReplyDeleteNot at all, but we were attacked and Hitler was a Trump throw-back. Yet, cutting up the pie in Europe for the Soviets who bore more of the burden than we did did not make the world a better place for anyone but the military industrial complex and the fear mongers over the expansionist commie threat.
