Fr. Jenkins and Notre Dame got taken for saps by the Most Equal Comrade

. . . when they let that foul monster who has nothing but contempt for their view that life is precious and holy give the commencement address in 2009.

He had every intention even as he stepped to the podium that day of making them foot the bill for the extermination of fetal Americans.

  1. I personally oppose abortion but, maybe it's the way you phrase your contempt for that "foul monster" that is our freely elected President that prompts me to remind you of two realities:
    1) most Americans with employer-based insurance currently have coverage for abortion
    2) Even your linked article admits that Fr. Jenkins who you are implying is a sap still stands by his decision to have the President speak at ND.

  2. 1.) That's bad and insurance companies ought not to be covering the extermination of fetal Americans.

2.) Fr. Jenkins has apparently not yet figured out that he's been played for a sap.

  3. 1) I know it's bad, but abortion is a legal medical procedure and, in this government of laws, not men, we go with what is law here.

    2) Fr. Jenkins (who incidentally is no Father Hesburgh, to his detriment) supports intellectual freedom and respects the office of the President of the United States.

I often wonder how far your professed adoration of freedom goes since you continually call so many not in your camp Freedom Haters. In 1967, a group of Catholic university presidents, led by the president of Notre Dame, the Rev. Theodore M. Hesburgh, issued the Land-of-Lakes Statement, which said a university could not thrive without institutional autonomy and academic freedom.

  4. What's next? A pro-cannibalism commencement speaker?

  5. The point of the post is that the MEC knew full well he was going to force Catholic health-care organizations to provide the means to exterminate fetal Americans.
It's part of his overall plan to destroy the institutions that have made for the foundation of Western civilization.

  6. The notion that "Once the people have spoken, it's a done deal and that's that" is mistaken. You continue to fight with maximum ferocity for what is right, true and good until it prevails.

  7. Nothing is a done deal with the law. It can always be repealed. I have no clue what the President knew full well about, but apparently you think you do. Many Presidents have spoken at Notre Dame, it is an honor for each. You can't always have it your way, bloggie, even though you know you're right.

"I think the real test of a great university is that you are fair to the opposition and that you get their point of view out there. You engage them. You want to get students' minds working. You don't want mindless Catholics. You want intelligent, successful Catholics." --Theodore Hesburgh, CSD, STD
