Really let in the full implication of the word "disaster"; that's what we have at the southern "border"

Former Border Patrol deputy chief Ronald Colburn depicts it this way:

“We’re back to a pre-9/11 situation basically, and this administration did that in the past five years,” he says. “All of the good that was done after 9/11 up to now has been reversed singlehandedly.”

Memo to the Freedom-Haters:  There's nothing cute about any of it anymore.   Knock it off.  You're going to get us all killed.

The Democrat party is America's enemy, every bit as much as Iran, North Korea, al-Qaeda or ISIS

Border agents saying they're witnessing - and even testing positive for - "diseases we haven't seen in years," dead kids are washing up on the Rio Grande's banks, illegal aleins are boarding commercial flights with no ID, security experts are sure jihadists are coming across the border along with Latin Americans, and this is the Freedom-Hater take on it all:

Their message to illegal immigrants was, in the words of Rep. John Lewis (D-GA), "our doors are open."
"We are all connected. We can't just build a wall or a fence and say no more," Lewis said. "This is America. Our doors are open."
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), who has said she would rather pass amnesty legislation than become Speaker again, and Rep. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) urged House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) to bring an amnesty bill to the floor so it can pass with support from Democrats. Boehner told Obama after House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) was ousted for his embrace of amnesty that Congress would not vote on an immigration bill this year. Boehner did suggest, though, that Congress could pass amnesty legislation next year.
House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D-MD) claimed America already has "extensive border security" while Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD), a member of the Congressional Black Caucus, said the well-being of the illegal immigrant children "must be our first priority."
Reps. Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) and Steve Horsford (D-NV) pushed for more guest-worker visas, which are coveted by big-business and high-tech interests, that would lower the wages of American workers. Numerous scholars and studies have concluded that America has a surplus – not a shortage – of high-tech workers.
Rep. Judy Chu (D-CA) said taxpayers should pay for more lawyers for illegal immigrant children, and Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D-CA) went further, saying "every" illegal immigrant child should get legal representation.
Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-NY) insisted that amnesty legislation would "raise wages" even though the Congressional Budget Office determined that the influx of more foreign workers would lower the wages of American workers. For that reason, U.S. Civil Rights Commissioner Peter Kirsanow wrote a letter to the Congressional Black Caucus urging them to vote against amnesty bills that would detrimentally impact black Americans at the lower rungs of the economic ladder the most.

And the Most Equal Comrade's junta of overlords has deemed this a fit use of your tax dollars:

The Obama administration has awarded a $50 million contract to a charitable group to buy a Texas resort hotel and transform it in to a 600 bed facility for juvenile illegal aliens.
The beautiful Palm Aire resort and hotel has an indoor Olympic sized pool and an outdoor pool.  Free Wi-Fi and cable TV are included in the simply decorated guest rooms.
The Palm Aire Hotel and Suites is set to be sold to Baptist Child & Family Services (BCFS) operating under a federal contract, pending local government approval, according to reports from Weslaco, Texas where the hotel is located. Weslaco is a few miles north of the Rio Grande in Hidalgo County.

Is there any doubt now that J. Christian Adams is correct in this assessment?

The first step to leading is understanding what you are up against. This border crisis isn’t incompetence. It isn’t bungling.
It is a calculated effort to crash the immigration system and fundamentally transform the nation. It is an effort to accelerate demographic trends and forever alter the nation’s culture. Until the GOP comprehends the full measure of Obama’s purpose, the GOP will be trapped in a prevent defense, never moving past complaints about Obama’s incompetence.
To the Obama administration and open borders groups, the tidal wave across the border is not an accident, and it is not a crisis. It is not even limited to unaccompanied children.
There is a single simple cause behind the human tragedy at the border: Obama’s refusal to enforce the immigration laws. The steady flow became a tsunami after Obama implemented childhood amnesty (DACA) in 2012. This lawless immigration policy gave legal status to young illegal aliens by Obama edict.
But Obama’s lawless leniency went even further. The president publicly and proudly announced that he will not enforce other immigration laws. His presidential invitation spread like wildfire throughout Central and South America, and the lawless invasion grew worse.
If President Obama reversed these lawless policies, the border flood would stop. That’s precisely why he won’t reverse them. The border flood, the free airline tickets, the badgering of school districts that do not welcome the illegal aliens with open arms — all of these actions are calculated to revolutionize the demographics of the nation.

There is no hyperbole in the title of this post.  You may have friends, associates and even family who vote Democrat.  Obviously, you can't go around saying, "I am at war against everything you stand for."  But when situations arise that call for your courage, for your defense of your principles even in somewhat awkward situations, you must rise to the occasion.  Democrats hate your freedom.

Why there's no money for road repair

Pubs should not cave on the matter of funding the Highway Trust Fund.  Instead, they should louldy trumpet this bit of truth:

As Cato Institute transportation analyst Randal O'Toole points out, the construction of the nation's federal highways was largely complete in 1982, but instead of reducing the gas tax that helped pay for them, Congress raised the tax and spent much of the money on things like bicycle trails and "mass" transit.
"Building an interstate highway system," writes O'Toole, "has been replaced by a complex and often contradictory set of missions: maintaining infrastructure, enhancing mobility, reducing air pollution, discouraging driving, supporting transit, building expensive rail lines, promoting economic development, stimulating the economy, stopping climate change and ending urban sprawl, among others."
Then, when roads deteriorate, the federal government laments that it doesn't have enough money.

And all that hoo-ha having nothing to do with keping roads in shape is part of the Great Leveling Project, the scheme to make everyone live in big cities, where people of varying levels of economic ambition are forced to live in homogenous neighborhoods for the sake of "fairness" and "social justice":

Urban planners, who work closely with government and distrust markets, are convinced that people will leave comfortable suburban homes and flock to dense urban areas with walkable streets, if government just pours money into mass transit.
But even after Congress spent billions on public transportation projects, even rebuilding the downtowns of some cities to make them more pedestrian-friendly, it turned out most Americans wanted to stay in their suburban homes.
Then urban planners assumed adults would relocate to cities once their kids left for college or jobs, but a recent Fannie Mae report found baby boomers are not doing that. The planners are surprised. They shouldn't be.

The free market has its say, even when the pointy-headed overlords try to macro-manage post-American life.

Another Beltway establishment pundit is forced to admit that the MEC's foreign policy is a disaster

Dana Milbank's column in the WaPo today is a worthwhile read.  He spends a lot of it observing how new press secretary not-so-deftly tries to put lipstick on the pig, but it's the first few paragraphs, in which he sets the table for why Earnest has to do his tap-dance, that make the reader respond with, "Well, how about that?"

His attorney general, Eric Holder, said Sunday that the threat of undetectable explosives from Syria is “more frightening than anything” he has experienced in office. And the Wall Street Journal ran a front-page article Monday reporting that “the breadth of global instability now unfolding hasn’t been seen since the late 1970s” and that “U.S. global power seems increasingly tenuous.”
The Journal’s catalogue of woes — civil wars in Iraq
and Syria, hostilities between Israel and the Palestinians, an electoral crisis in Afghanistan, tension with Russia over Ukraine, floundering nuclear negotiations with Iran and renewed Chinese expansionism — didn’t include the current crisis on the United States’ Southern border.
Could things get any worse? Well, maybe if the president’s chief spokesman claimed that Obama was bringing “tranquility” to the globe — which is what White House press secretary Josh Earnest did at his daily briefing Monday afternoon.

After some recounting of Earnest's exchanges with reporters, whose questions were along the lines of "How can you possibly mean that?", Milbank weighs in with his own money-line zinger:

Tranquility? Where, in Iceland?
Slowly getting it, because there's no way not to see it.

Now, will everyone please be quiet?  The Most Equal Comrade needs to prepare for his two weeks on Martha's Vineyard.

How the West came to this suicidal stage

At the conclusion of Dennis Prager's Townhall column today, entitled "The Jewish State in a Morally Sick World," he lists, bullet-point-style, the reasons why Israel has so few friends at this moment of peril:

1. The West has lost its way. Europe gave up on its values after World War I. And the American left, which dominates the media, gave up on America's distinctive values after the Vietnam War.
2. Unlike during World War II, there is a United Nations today, and it is dominated by over 50 Islamic countries, their dozens of allies, and a Security Council on which sit Russia and China as permanent members.
3. The current American president is a product of the postwar leftist morality. Wherever the left is in power, Israel is unpopular at best and loathed at worst. Thus, Israel's best friend today is the conservative government of Canada.
4. The world's news media relentlessly show images of wounded and dead Gazans. Israel, on the other hand, though the target of mass-killing missiles, has thus far been able to avoid such casualties.
5. Israel is Jewish.

If you say you are ambivalent about where we are, that you're not interested in taking sides, you are a party to our civilization's destruction.

There is no policy and there is no border

The spike in the influx of illegal aliens in the past few months on our southern border has no redeeming qualities.  It's an unmitigated tragedy and an urgent threat to our national security.

Prayer rugs, Korans and an Urdu-to-English dictionary have been found by border agents and ranchers.

A border agent says his colleagues are coming down with "diseases we haven't seen in decades."

Dead children are washing up onto the banks of the Rio Grande.

A cadre of immigration lawyers has a vested interest in prolonging the cases of illegal aliens:

“Due process” in deportation is a euphemism for interminable delay. According to TRAC Immigration, which gathers data on the chronically backlogged immigration-court system, there are currently more than 366,000 pending deportation cases, with average wait times nationally of nearly 600 days. There are a measly 59 immigration courts staffed by a meager 235 judges to handle all those cases.
Insiders have told me again and again over the years: “It ain’t over ’til the alien wins.”
Democrats, as always, will blame lack of taxpayer funding. But here’s the cold, hard fact: The system is “broken” on purpose. As they clamor for mass illegal-alien amnesty, left-wing immigration lawyers and ethnic activists operate a lucrative industry whose sole objective is to help illegal aliens and convicted-criminal visa holders evade deportation for as long as possible. Groups such as the American Immigration Lawyers Association, the Immigrant Legal Resource Center, and the American Friends Service Committee make their livelihoods off administrative bottlenecks.

Of all the instances in which the Most Equal Comrade has hung out the "Our Weakness is By Design" sign, this is the most alarming.  Did Ann Dunham, Frank Marshall Davis, Heather Booth, Rashid Khalidi, Jeremiah Wright and Valerie Jarrett actually think that the end product of their mad vision could turn out well?

Can anyone believe that the incoherence with which this regime is "addressing" this catastrophe moves us toward a better world?

There may be one shred of merit to what is happening, but  even then it's a matter of one interest group seeing its share of Leviathan-dispensed goodies threatened by another interest group:

“Mr. President, we’re asking for you,” one woman said. “You’re spending billions of dollars in Texas, but we’ve a problem here in Chicago. We will not stand by this here, and keep letting this senseless killing and shooting happen in our community.”
Another resident said, “Today, if you look at the time that we were brought here as slaves 400 years ago, we got the same results today.”
One man called for Mr. Obama to step down if he continued to shun the city’s problems.
“For the president to set aside all of these funds for immigrants and [have] forsaken the African-American community, I think that’s a disgrace,” the man told the blog Rebel Pundit. “He will go down as the worst president ever elected. Bill Clinton was the African-American president.”

Those folks are still  thinking in terms of a federal solution to the problems on the streets of their neighborhoods, but waking-up processes are usually incremental.  At least they now get that the Most Equal Comrade is a horrible "president."

And it takes the wind out of the racism-charge sails at least somewhat.

But does more people getting it translate into stopping the flood?  Not so far.

Fundamental transformation, in real time.

Cookin' the books in a gay-parenting "study"

That University of Melbourne study that supposedly showed that kids raised by homosexual couples are better adjusted was no study at all.  Participants knew the purpose of it from the get-go. So much for random sampling.

By the way, the issue of Archie Comics in which he dies taking a bullet for a homosexual friend who spoke out about gun control comes out, excuse the pun, next month.

I first encountered the Riverdale High gang circa 1961 and it was the impression of adolescence I carried with me into that life phase.
When Archie Andrews gets immersed in ideology, you know you're living in post-America.

Two neighbors, two very different views of Israel's current predicament

Turkey's Erdogan - he of the "aid" flotilla a while back - situates his country in the blame-Israel camp:

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan declared on Thursday that his country’s ties with Israel would not return to normal unless Israel ceases its offensive on Gaza, AFP reports.
"You will first stop this oppression. If not, it is not possible to realizenormalization between Turkey and Israel," Erdogan said in the central Anatolian city of Yozgat after a dinner breaking the daily Ramadan fast.
Relations between Israel and Turkey have been strained in recent years, in light of the Mavi Marmara incident of 2010.
The Mavi Marmara, which claimed to international media to be providing "humanitarian aid for the people of Gaza," was the largest ship in the flotilla aimed at breaking Israel's Gaza blockade on May 31, 2010.
The ship defied orders to turn around and dock at the Ashdod port. After it ignored repeated warnings to change course, the IDF boarded the vessel - only to be attacked by Islamist extremists on board.
The soldiers had no choice but to open fire, resulting in the deaths of nine of the activists on board.
After an investigation, Israeli authorities discovered the vessel to be carrying no humanitarian aid - in fact, no aid supplies at all - whatsoever.
When Israel refused Turkey’s demands to apologize for raiding the Marmara, Turkey withdrew its ambassador from Israel and expelled the Israeli ambassador in Ankara.
Israel and Turkey have been locked in talks for more than a year over compensation, after Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu extended a formal apology to Ankara under pressure by U.S. President Barack Obama.

A different take altogether is coming out of Egyptian media, and even gummint:

Officials and public figures in Egypt are beginning to call for Israel and Egypt to wipe out Hamas in the Gaza Strip, which some are calling the “armed branch of the Muslim Brotherhood terrorist organization,” that runs the coastal enclave.
A major Egyptian television news commentator savaged Hamas on Sunday for its support of the Muslim Brotherhood, and called on her country to join Israel and strike the Islamist group.
“The Egyptian people know exactly who they are facing, and understand that there is no alternative to employing the Egyptian army to strike terror cells in Gaza and destroy Hamas in a military operation,” Hayah Al Dardiri, a presenter for Egypt Today told viewers.
Another pundit, Azza Sami, of the newspaper Al-Ahram wrote, “Thank you (Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin) Netanyahu and may God give us more [people] like you to destroy Hamas.”
And the critique of Hamas wasn’t only in the media.
Writing in The Gatestone Institute, Israeli journalist and author Khaled Abu Toameh noted that, “Sisi’s Egypt has not forgiven Hamas for its alliance with (the) Muslim Brotherhood and its involvement in terrorist attacks against Egyptian civilians and soldiers over the past year.”
“The Egyptians today understand that Hamas and other radical Islamist groups pose a serious threat to their national security. That is why the Egyptian authorities have, over the past year, been taking tough security measures not only against Hamas, but also the entire population of the Gaza Strip.”

Of course, Bibi must walk a fine line, setting merely "sustained quiet" as a goal of the current strikes on Gaza.  With post-America taking more the Erdogan line than the Egyptian line, Israel can't apply what's really needed at this time.

Michelle Obama's vulgar, incendiary, America-hating exercise in lack of decorum

Mrs. MEC speaks to the League of United Latin American Citizens, and goes through her husband's litany of talking points about the relative roles of the executive and legislative branches - "won't wait for Congress to act" and all that Constitution-disdaining dog vomit - and, of course, throws in that utterly meaningless cliche "broken system" to deflect from good old law enforcement.

Then she decides to go all Howard Zinn on her audience:

Shortly after, Mrs. Obama began to list the civil rights offenses that plagued the Hispanic community at America’s hands in recent decades.
“Back then,” she said, referring to 1929 and the start of the LULAC, “Latinos were being brutalized and killed by police and lynched by the KKK. ‘No Mexicans Allowed’ signs hung outside of restaurants and storefronts. Latinos often couldn’t own property, or serve on a jury. And if you walked into a public building, you’d often see not two water fountains, but three — one white, one black and one brown.”

Some documentation if you would, please?  Just how frequent were these supposed instances?  "Latinos couldn't own property?"  Talk about a blanket statement.

This woman understands the role of a first lady about as well as I understand integral calculus.

Let's start here, toots: It doesn't involve injecting demographic poison into the national debate over the immutability of the nation's borders.

You definitely file this one under "WTF?"

Illegal aliens are being permitted to travel on commercial airline flights with no documentation besides a Notice to Appear form.  No ID necessary.

This is insane.

Crunch time for Israel

This Times of Israel liveblog is pretty hairy to read.

The rocket barrage shows no signs of letting up, and they're coming in from over the norther border -the one with Lebanon - as well now.

Here's what that's about:  A Hamas official says his bunch and Hizbollah are "exchanging expertise" and that the relationship between the two entities is "better than everyone thinks."

Tel Aviv getting it.  And now Jerusalem:

Code Red rocket sirens blared throughout Jerusalem, Ma'ale Adumim, Hebron and other surrounding areas on Saturday evening.
Rockets landed in Hebron and Bethlehem, the IDF Spokeperson said.  Four rockets landed in total in the attack- three in Palestinian areas and one near a Jewish West Bank settlement.
Can you imagine having to live that way? How long would you take it?

The formula for indoctrinating the cattle-masses: wipe out their knowledge of their heritage

Commit the name David Coleman to memory.  He is your enemy.  He wants to make sure post-American youth understand nothing of the history and principles that made the United States of America unique among the world's nation-states:

The College Board, the company that issues the SAT and the various Advanced Placement (AP) exams, has created an elaborate new framework for the AP U.S. History Exam that will effectively force nearly all American high schools, public and private, to transform the way they teach U.S. History.
The traditional emphasis on America’s founders and the principles of constitutional government will soon be jettisoned in favor of a left-leaning emphasis on race, gender, class, ethnicity, etc.
There are serious questions about the legality of the new AP U.S. History Exam, insofar as it may conflict with existing history standards in a number of states.  These questions, however, as well as public debate over this massive and tremendously controversial change, have been largely suppressed by the stealthy way in which the College Board has rolled out the new test.
The new AP U.S. History Exam has been issued under the authority of David Coleman, president of the College Board and, not coincidentally, architect of the Common Core.  We are witnessing a coordinated, two-pronged effort to effectively federalize all of American K-12 education, while shifting its content sharply to the left.
While the College Board has publicly released a lengthy “framework” for the new AP U.S. History Exam, that framework contains only a few sample questions.  Sources tell me, however, that a complete sample exam has be released, although only to certified AP U.S. History teachers.  Those teachers have been warned, under penalty of law and the stripping of their AP teaching privileges, not to disclose the content of the new sample AP U.S. History Exam to anyone.

Framers?  What framers?

The upshot is that James Madison, Thomas Jefferson, and the other founders are largely left out of the new test, unless they are presented as examples of conflict and identity by class, gender, race, ethnicity, etc.  The Constitution can be studied as an example of the Colonists’ belief in the superiority of their own culture, for instance.  But any teacher who presents a full unit on the principles of the American Constitution taught in the traditional way would be severely disadvantaging his students.  So while allowing some minor flexibility on details, the new AP U.S. History framework effectively forces teachers to train their students in a leftist, blame-America-first reading of history, while omitting traditional treatments of our founding principles.

How does someone come to embrace such a sick view of what US history ought to be about?  Well, Coleman's bio is vintage Freedom-Hater:   native New Yorker, psychiatrist father, mother who was president of leftist sewer Bennington College from 1987 to 2013, philosophy degrees, tutoring of low-income blacks and Latinos in poetry.

A pure product of the overlord class.

And he's coming for your children.

The ugly truth is that, for the most part, they'll be staying

After all, currently only one in 45 illegal alien children are returned home.

And the regime is awfully mush-mouthed about how the current influx will be dealt with.  Scott Johnson, writing in the Weekly Standard, recounts this exchange between NBC's David Gregory and DHS secretary Jeh Johnson:

Gregory tried again: “I’m trying to get an answer to: Will most of them end up staying, in your judgment?” Johnson responded: “I think we need to find more efficient, effective ways to turn this tide around generally, and we’ve already begun to do that.”
We can infer that the answer is they’ll end up staying. (DHS did not return my call seeking clarification of Secretary Johnson’s remarks.) The United Nations has begun demanding that the Central American minors be treated as refugees.

Is there any other explanation for the Most Equal Comrade's demeanor in the face of this crisis - drinking beer and shooting pool with  Colorado governor John Hickenlooper, being snotty to Texas governor Rick Perry - than that he's quite satisfied with the way the Cloward-Piven strategy is unfolding?

A nauseatingly effective encapsulation of the ravages this regime has inflicted on post-America

That would be the pink slips going out to US military personnel while on duty.

Leave it to the Obama administration to do something so amazingly dumb it takes your breath away.
According to the New York Post, “In a stunning display of callousness, the Defense Department has announced that thousands of soldiers — many serving as commanding officers in Afghanistan — will be notified in the coming weeks that their service to the country is no longer needed. Last week, more than 1,100 Army captains — the men and women who know best how to fight this enemy because they have experienced multiple deployments — were told they’ll be retired from the Army.”
Let’s just review what’s going in the world right now, shall we?
  • Islamic State (IS -the terror artists formerly known as ISIS) is creating a caliphate in the heart of the Middle East.
  • Israel is locked in combat with Hamas.
  • Iran is marching towards regional hegemony and nuclear capability.
  • Russia is seeking to expand its domain.
  • China is threatening our allies in the Pacific Rim.
This is the time the Obama administration has decided to send pink slips to our combat warriors while they are serving in a combat zone? Simply brilliant! But then again, deserters (i.e. Bowe Bergdahl) are heroic and serve with distinction according to National Security Advisor and Obama lapdog Susan Rice — so who needs these men and women of honor, integrity and character who faithfully stand guard upon freedom’s rampart?

The microcosm of the whole agenda of planned decline.  Anybody who is not on board with the post-American program is in the position of Zhivago returning from the front to find entire families living in each room of his family's home.

The messages this sends out - not just to active-duty folks, or even veterans, but people in their late teens who might be considering a military stint, to our "allies", our rivals and our enemies - is that we no longer value our own might.

A whole lot of countries with less interest in a morality-based worldview value their own might.

Fundamental transformation is happening this every moment

This Lerner woman is a real piece of work

Here's the latest development in the saga of Lois:

Lerner's full email reads as follows:
I had a question today about OCS [Microsoft Office Communications Server]. I was cautioning folks about email and how we have had several occasions where Congress has asked for emails and there has been an electronic search for responsive emails--so we need to be cautious about what we say in emails. Someone asked if OCS conversations were also searchable--I don't know, but told them I would get back to them. Do you know?
The startling email exchange took place on April 9, 2013, between Lerner, IRS technology employee Maria Hooke, and IRS Director for Exempt Organizations Exam Unit Manager Nanette Downing, who was in charge of audits. The email was sent just twelve days after the IRS Inspector General circulated a draft of the targeting audit Lerner eventually leaked at a bar association speech that sparked the ensuing controversy over IRS targeting of conservative and Tea Party groups.
The newly released emails also indicate Lerner was concerned that IRS instant messenger chats might be archived and saved. The IRS technology employee writes her back and states that "OCS [Microsoft Office Communications Server] messages are not set to automatically save" but noted that "parties involved in an OCS conversation can copy and save the contents of the conversation to an email or file."
Lerner replied, "Perfect."

Now, tell me again about how there is anything hyperbolic about calling this nation-state we find ourselves living in Post-America.

The Most Equal Comrade may not hate Israel, but it's fine with him if it's destroyed by those who do

He really penned this dog vomit:

Nobel Peace Prize winner Barack Obama draws on the deep well of his wisdom and his foreign policy successes to instruct Israelis on the path to peace in today’s Haaretz column “Peace is the only true path to security for Israel and the Palestinians.” Warning: Reading may induce nausea.
“In President Abbas, Israel has a counterpart committed to a two-state solution and security cooperation with Israel,” Obama writes. Benjamin Netanyahu? The observant reader — such as Josh Lederman, the author of this AP story — will note that Obama offered no parallel praise for Netanyahu. He also omits any mention of the peaceniks in Gaza barraging Israel with rockets.
Because of the ludicrous timing of Obama’s column, Haaretz emphasizes: “This article was written for Haaretz’s Israel Conference on Peace before June 30, 2014.” Obama’s wisdom, however, is timeless. It can’t have proved obsolete in a matter of days, can it?
Obama has not yet publicly embraced Hamas. He simply ignores it. Hamas doesn’t rate a mention. Obama’s silence regarding Hamas is the midpoint on his journey toward the post-presidential phase of Jimmy Carter’s career as a Middle East peacemaker.
Abbas is such a peacenik that the media under his control via Fatah or the Palestinian Authority regularly call for the extinction of Israel. Palestinian Media Watch makes the work of the Palestinian media accessible in English and interested observers can witness the phenomenon for themselves.

I guess we should expect this kind of hideous worldview from an admirer of Rashid Khalidi and Edward Said.

UPDATE: Haaretz keeps up the self-flagellation with a flurry of articles, and a conference featuring their authors, asserting that Judaism is a bigger threat to the Mideast than ISIS, Hamas or Iran:

in the collection of articles assembled by Haaretz to accompany the conference, you will find Gideon Levy, one of the paper’s resident anti-Zionists, declaring preposterously that “a Jewish state means a racist, nationalistic state, meant for Jews only.” You will find an official Haaretz editorial insisting that the murderers of the Palestinian teenager, Mohammed Abu Khdeir, are the “descendants and builders of a culture of hate and vengeance that is nurtured and fertilized by the guides of ‘the Jewish state.’” And you will find a longer meditation on the same theme by Avraham Burg, the scion of a leading Zionist family and the former Speaker of the Knesset, who concludes that the root of Israel’s problem lies (as he describes it) in the anti-gentile culture that distinguishes the Jewish faith.

Self-hatred seems to infect society in every Western nation these days.
